Role Synopsis: The role of the HSE Specialist is to implement and maintain the company’s health, safety, and environmental management systems for the textile manufacturing facility. This role ensures compliance with national labour and environmental laws, fosters a safety culture, and identifies workplace hazards, among other things. Key Accountabilities: Adhere to occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. Conduct routine safety inspections and risk assessments of the production areas, including the spinning, weaving, dyeing, finishing, and warehouse sections. Identify hazards such as those from machines, chemicals, dyes, dust, noise, and ergonomic issues, and undertake corrective measures to mitigate them. Prepare and maintain safety procedures, work instructions, and risk mitigation strategies. Plan and conduct HSE training and awareness sessions for employees and contractors. Conduct investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare reports, including corrective and preventive measures. Monitor adherence to personal protective equipment requirements and safe working practices. Coordinate fire safety activities, including fire systems and fire drills, and emergency preparedness activities. Maintain HSE documentation and records in adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Participate in HSE internal and external audits, including implementation of audit findings. Monitor aspects of the environment, including waste management, chemical handling, emission control, and wastewater management. Desired background: Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field. Professional HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are preferred. Minimum 2–4 years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in manufacturing or textile production. Experience in workplace risk assessment, accident investigation and safety training. Familiarity with industrial safety standards and environmental management practices. Required skills: Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety principles. Ability to identify risks in manufacturing environments and implement preventive measures. Knowledge of fire safety, chemical safety and industrial hygiene practices. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to conduct training and communicate safety requirements effectively. Attention to detail and strong documentation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with production teams and management. Proficiency in Azerbaijani (native); fluency in English (spoken and written) Working conditions: Location: 2 Sulh Str., Sumgait, Azerbaijan.
