IT Instructor - Peerstack Academy

Job Summary: Peerstack Academy is an innovative educational institution dedicated to preparing the next generation of professionals in software engineering, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies. As an IT Instructor , you will play a key role in mentoring students throughout their learning journey, facilitating project-based learning, and supporting their technical and professional development. You will work closely with students on real software projects, conduct technical mentoring sessions, and contribute to continuously improving our curriculum and learning experience. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent mentoring skills, and a passion for developing future software engineers. Our Requirements: Technical Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field; Minimum 3 years of professional experience in commercial software development; Experience as a Senior Software Engineer or Team Lead; Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles; Proficiency in Git and GitHub; Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases; Good understanding of REST API design, development, and integration; Solid knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and modern software development workflows; Ability to work with technical documentation written in English; Contributions to Open Source projects are considered an advantage; Experience participating in hackathons or startup environments is considered an advantage; Hands-on experience with AI technologies and modern software development tools is considered an advantage. Core Competencies Strong ownership mindset with the ability to take initiative, drive tasks independently, and ensure successful outcomes; Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Azerbaijani and English; Strong mentoring and coaching skills, with previous experience supporting the development of junior software engineers; Experience as an instructor or mentor in bootcamps or technical training programs; Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts; Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams; Passion for knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and developing future software engineers. Experience with one or more of the following technologies is considered an advantage (not all are required): Java Python JavaScript / TypeScript React / Next.js Node.js Spring Boot C C# Go Rust Docker Linux AWS or other Cloud platforms Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI Development tools Key Responsibilities:  Mentor students throughout their learning journey and monitor their daily progress; Lead project-based learning activities and supervise students working on real-world software development projects; Facilitate daily stand-up meetings, code review sessions, pair programming activities, and technical discussions; Guide students in troubleshooting technical challenges and developing effective problem-solving skills; Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions and prepare individual development plans; Track student performance, identify at-risk students, and provide additional academic and technical support when needed; Support students in technical interview preparation, CV reviews, GitHub portfolio evaluations, and career readiness; Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training materials, assignments, and practical projects; Support the development of internal digital solutions aligned with organizational needs; Participate in and contribute to hackathons, workshops, and other technical events; Ensure all activities are aligned with Peerstack Academy's educational standards, teaching methodology, and core values.
