Senior Legal Counsel - IRES

Location: Baku, Azerbaijan About the Role: We are currently recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel on behalf of our client. This role is ideal for an experienced legal professional with strong exposure to international law and complex project-based environments, particularly within infrastructure or energy sectors. Key Responsibilities: Drafting and reviewing complex agreements, contracts, memoranda, and other legal documents Providing legal opinions on contractual, corporate, and commercial matters Supporting negotiations and advising on legal risks Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations across company projects Participating in preparation of loan facility agreements and debt-related documentation Providing legal support to management and internal stakeholders Coordinating with internal and external legal counsels Monitoring legal aspects of ongoing projects and ensuring timely execution of obligations Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLM is an advantage) Minimum 6 years of relevant legal experience Strong knowledge of English law and international legal frameworks Good knowledge of Azerbaijani legislation Proven experience drafting complex agreements (EPC, M&A, shareholders’ agreements, etc.) Experience in energy or renewable projects is a strong advantage Knowledge of Commercial, Corporate, Contract, and Energy Law Fluency in English and Azerbaijani Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines High attention to detail and strong analytical skills Interested candidates can send their CV to the e-mail address in the Apply for job button. e-mail: recruitment@ires.az
