Department: Commercial / Contracts Job Purpose The Contracts Lead is responsible for managing all post-award contractual activities across EPC projects, ensuring effective contract administration, compliance with contractual obligations, and protection of the company’s commercial interests. The role will oversee contract execution, variation management, claims, and close-out processes with clients, subcontractors, and vendors. Key Responsibilities Lead the administration of EPC contracts post-award, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Interpret contract clauses and provide guidance to project teams on contractual rights and obligations. Ensure proper documentation, correspondence, and record-keeping in line with contract requirements. Manage variation orders, change requests, and contract amendments with clients and subcontractors. Evaluate scope changes and coordinate with engineering, planning, and cost teams for impact assessment. Lead commercial negotiations related to variations and ensure proper approvals are obtained. Identify, prepare, submit, and negotiate contractual claims (EOT, cost claims, disruptions, etc.). Develop claim strategies and maintain claim registers and supporting documentation. Work closely with project controls and legal teams to substantiate claims. Identify contractual and commercial risks during project execution and propose mitigation strategies. Support dispute avoidance and resolution processes, including negotiations and settlements. Oversee administration of subcontracts and vendor agreements post-award. Ensure subcontractor compliance with main contract obligations. Manage back-to-back contract alignment and flow-down of terms. Act as a focal point for all contractual matters between internal teams, clients, and subcontractors. Provide contractual advice to project managers, engineering, procurement, and construction teams. Prepare periodic reports on contract performance, claims status, and key commercial issues. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and governance standards. Lead contract close-out activities including final accounts, claims settlement, and documentation handover. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field. Minimum 8–12 years of experience in contracts/commercial roles within EPC projects. Strong experience in post-award contract management (EPC/EPCM environment). Solid understanding of standard contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, etc.).
