We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax & Compliance Accountant to join our Finance team in the oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full tax compliance, accurate reporting, and effective coordination with auditors, tax authorities and internal stakeholders. The role will report to the Finance & Tax Manager and will support the company’s tax governance and financial compliance within an international oil and gas operational environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, calculate, and submit all statutory tax reports and tax returns (Corporate Income Tax, monthly and quarterly reports, VAT, withholding tax, employment taxes and other applicable filings) Prepare corporate tax forecasts and support budgeting processes with tax-related calculations Perform variance analysis between actual and forecast tax amounts Manage tax-related queries from internal, external, and statutory auditors as well as tax authorities Support and coordinate audit processes, ensuring timely and accurate documentation Reconcile balance sheet and profit & loss statements, ensuring alignment with IFRS requirements Ensure compliance with employment taxes and other direct and indirect tax obligations Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure company compliance and assess potential financial impact Support tax audits, inspections and regulatory reviews when required Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, energy or multinational environment Strong knowledge of local tax legislation and IFRS Experience working with external auditors and tax authorities Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities High level of accuracy and attention to detail Good communication skills in English and Azerbaijani Preferred Qualifications: Advanced English proficiency ACCA, DipIFR, CIMA, CPA or similar international certifications Experience with JOA and JIB (Joint Interest Billing) Background in oil & gas or international projects Strong knowledge of IFRS financial reporting Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, 1C or similar) What We Offer: Opportunity to play a key role in tax compliance and financial governance within a complex operational environment Direct interaction with senior management, external auditors, and regulatory authorities Competitive compensation and benefits package Professional growth within a dynamic, internationally oriented organization with exposure to IFRS and joint venture reporting practices Involvement in strategic tax planning, forecasting, and compliance optimization initiatives Interested candidates can send their cv to the e-mail address in the Apply for job button.
