Brief Job Description: We are seeking a highly experienced Asset Manager to manage and oversee the performance and value delivery of offshore oil and gas assets operated under production sharing agreements. The Asset Manager will act as the main representative of SUMI in technical, operational and commercial oversight of offshore assets operated by partner companies. The role is responsible for ensuring that operator activities are conducted in accordance with contractual obligations, industry standards, and SUMI’s strategic objectives while maximizing long-term asset value. The successful candidate will monitor operator performance, review development strategies and operational programs, evaluate technical and economic proposals, and coordinate multidisciplinary support from internal technical and commercial teams. The position requires strong expertise in offshore oil and gas operations, field development, joint venture governance, and asset performance management.. Job duties: Governance and Representation Represent SUMI in the technical and operational governance of offshore assets operated under PSAs and Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs). Act as the focal point for coordination with Operating Companies and Contractor Parties, ensuring that SUMI’s interests are effectively represented in asset management discussions, technical reviews, and decision-making processes. Participate in joint venture governance processes including technical committees, operational reviews, and preparation of positions for Management Committee discussions. Ensure that operator activities comply with contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, and approved development and operational plans Asset Performance Management Monitor and anlyze operational and production performance of offshore assets and evaluate key performance indicators related to production efficiency, operational reliability, safety performance, and cost effectiveness. Provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency, production performance, and overall asset value. Ensure that asset performance is aligned with SUMI’s strategic objectives and production targets Prepare analytical reports, briefings, and presentations related to asset performance, development activities, and operational issues. Provide periodic updates to SUMI management and the Supervisory Board on offshore asset performance and strategic matters. Development and Project Oversight Review and evaluate offshore field development plans, drilling programs, production strategies, and engineering studies proposed by operators. Participate in the review of development concepts, facilities design, drilling plans, and offshore construction activities to ensure technical feasibility, economic viability, and alignment with SUMI’s strategic objectives. Ensure that appropriate technical evaluation and engineering maturity are achieved prior to major investment decisions and project execution phases. Monitor the progress of offshore development projects and provide recommendations to support effective execution and risk mitigation. Annual Work Program and Budget Review Review and evaluate Annual Work Programs and Budgets submitted by operators to ensure technical justification, cost efficiency, and alignment with development objectives. Monitor the implementation of approved programs and evaluate deviations related to schedule, scope, and cost performance. Support internal reviews and recommendations related to budget approvals and asset investment decisions. Stakeholder Coordination Coordinate internally with multidisciplinary functional teams including subsurface, drilling, facilities engineering, finance, commercial, and legal departments to support effective asset management. Maintain effective working relationships with Operating Companies, joint venture partners, government institutions, and regulatory authorities. Facilitate communication between SUMI management and external partners on matters related to offshore asset development and performance. Essential experience and job requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Geology, Offshore Engineering, Operations Management, Economics, or Business Administration. Master's degree and certificate or Diploma in project management from PMP, PMI or IPMA (preferred). At least 10 years of work experience in a senior position in the oil and gas industry, including experience related to offshore field development, production operations, or asset management. At least 5 years of experience in senior technical, operational, or asset management roles, preferably within offshore oil and gas projects. Strong technical understanding of offshore oil and gas operations including drilling, production systems, field development planning, offshore facilities, and reservoir management. Experience working within international oil and gas contractual frameworks such as Production Sharing Agreements (PSAs), Joint Operating Agreements (JOAs), or similar arrangements. Demonstrated ability to review multidisciplinary technical and economic documentation related to upstream oil and gas projects Experience interacting with international operators, joint venture partners, and government institutions. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex technical and operational matters. Excellent communication and reporting skills, including the ability to prepare professional correspondence, technical evaluations, and management presentations Good understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements applicable to offshore oil and gas operations. Understanding of capital expenditure (CAPEX), operating expenditure (OPEX), and asset economics related to offshore oil and gas development.
