Assets Management Director - SOCAR Green

Position Summary The Assets Management Department Director is responsible for the strategic oversight, performance, and lifecycle management of SOCAR Green's renewable energy assets, including solar, wind, storage, and hybrid assets (power plants). This role leads asset management in terms of Operations & Maintenance of assets, EPC and OEM coordinations, technical performance optimization, commercial and contractual stewardship, and cross-functional coordination across development, project delivery, procurement, finance, and HSSE teams to maximize the value, reliability, and profitability of renewable energy assets from financial close through end of life, in support of SOCAR's broader decarbonization and clean energy transition strategy. Key Responsibilities Asset Management Oversee the operational & maintenance programs, financial, and technical performance of a portfolio of renewable energy assets (solar PV, wind, battery storage, and/or hybrid projects). Develop and implement asset management strategies to optimize performance/guaranteed ratio, plant availability, energy yield, and return on investment across the portfolio. Monitor asset performance against budget, forecast, and contractual benchmarks; identify and drive corrective actions for underperforming assets. Lead lifecycle asset planning, including repowering, major maintenance, capital expenditure planning, and end-of-life/decommissioning strategy. Stakeholder & Contract Management Manage relationships with O&M providers, EPC contractors, offtakers, and other third parties to ensure compliance with PPAs, O&M agreements, interconnection agreements, and lease/land agreements. Oversee contract administration, negotiation, and renewal for key commercial agreements affecting asset value. Support due diligence, technical/commercial evaluation, and integration of new project acquisitions into the operating portfolio. Coordinate with legal, finance, and regulatory teams to ensure ongoing compliance with permitting, environmental, and grid/interconnection requirements. Financial & Risk Management Develop and manage annual operating budgets, revenue forecasts, and capital plans for the asset portfolio. Analyze asset-level financial performance, variance reporting, and KPI dashboards for senior leadership and investors. Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, regulatory, and market risks affecting asset performance and valuation. Support insurance, warranty claims, and risk transfer strategies related to project assets. Leadership & Interface Management Build, mentor, and lead a team of asset managers, analysts, and technical specialists. Serve as primary point of contact for investors, lenders, and joint venture partners on asset performance matters. Collaborate cross-functionally with development, construction, finance, legal, and executive leadership to align asset strategy with broader company objectives. Represent the organization in industry forums, regulatory proceedings, and stakeholder engagements as required. Coordinate with relevant SOCAR business units to align renewable asset strategy with SOCAR's broader decarbonization targets and energy transition roadmap. Support engagement with international partners and joint venture operators (e.g., IOCs and renewable energy developers) on co-owned or co-managed assets in Azerbaijan. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Environmental Science, or related field (Master's degree or MBA preferred). Minimum 10 years of overall professional experience in oil&gas, energy, infrastructure, engineering, or asset/project management. Minimum 5 years of directly relevant experience in O&M, renewable energy asset management, project management, or operations (solar, wind, storage, or hybrid projects). Strong knowledge of PPAs, O&M agreements, interconnection agreements, and renewable energy regulatory frameworks. Demonstrated experience managing multi-site or portfolio-level renewable energy assets. Solid financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and asset valuation. Proven leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional stakeholders. Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Fluency in Azerbaijani and English required Familiarity with Azerbaijan's energy sector, regulatory environment, and grid/interconnection framework. Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, CFA, or equivalent. Experience with SCADA, asset management software, and performance monitoring platforms. Familiarity with energy markets, grid operations, and regional regulatory environments relevant to the company's project locations. Experience supporting M&A due diligence or capital raising activities. Key Competencies Strategic and analytical thinking with strong business acumen.
